
On Day 3 of ARCB tour to the island nation, after traveling along some scenic route along the warmer side of the Atlantic Ocean, ARCB U-13 team arrived at the Mafeking Recreation, Ground to play South East Region (SER) in 30 over a side match.
After winning toss, SER Elected to bat and scored 176 for 3 in 30 overs on a true pitch with lightening quick outfield. Notable contribution for SER came from M.Grant who scored 54 off 51 and A Maharaj who played a blistering knock to score 80 off 46. For ARCB boys Shashank Gundlapally 6-2-13-1 and Nayan Elamurugan 6-1-24-0 were the most economic bowlers and other wickets were taken by Shapnil Roy and Run out by Yashaswi Gautam/Prannav. On a scorching hotday ARCB boys were exception in the field, diving away to save runs for their team earning praises from the spectators and opposing team alike. Aditya Banerjee, Shiv Nair and Mihir Ganguly reminded many a Johnty Rhodes in the field.
Opening the batting for ARCB U-13 team, Arjun Vajjala and Prannav Chettupalyam started fluently to score at 6.0 runs per over and shared 86 run opening partnership in first 14 overs. Prannav C with his trademark drives through off-side scored 29 of 36. Kavin Nakkeeran and Arjun V took ARCB U-13 team home in the 26th over chasing the total of 176 runs in a professional manner. Kavin N scored 34 runs in 29 balls. Arjun V battling a hamstring injury played a captains innings remaining unbeatable on 59 off 61 to win the Man-Of-the-Match award and the game for the ARCB U-13 Team.
