On Day 2 of ARCB U-13 Trinidad tour, game was hosted by Primary School Representatives Team (PSRT) at the Squadron Grounds.
ARCB Captain Arjun Vajjala won the toss and elected to bat. provided good bounce and carry for medium pacer and, turn with bounce to spinners.
Arjun Vajjala and Prannav Chettupalyam gave a solid opening stand of 50+ runs at 6 runs per over with some excellent feet movement of the front foot and back foot.
Arjun V was bowled by Ismail Ali, with accurate leg spin bowling. Arujn dismissal brought Kavin Nakkeran to the crease. Kavin formed a good partner with Prannav C to take ARCB to 100 runs in 16 overs. Prannav scored 23 runs off 28 balls with regularly rotating strike and keeping the scoreboard ticking. PSRT Spinners tighten the flow of runs and picked up regular wickets to restrict ARCB team to 170 for 8 wickets in 30 overs. Kavin Nakkeran was the top scorer for ARCB U-13 team with 33 runs of 51 balls.
ARCB Opening bowlers were beaten for 47 runs in 5 overs. For PSRT Tariq Singh provided a blistering start scoring 24 in 17 balls.
In the 6th over Yashaswi Goutam had Tariq S caught at slip by Nayan Elamurugan moving low to his left and taking an exceptional catch that turned the match in to ARCB’s favor. After first break-through, ARCB bowlers bowled some tight line and length to restrict PSRT Batsman to score runs. Shashank Gundlapally spells of 5 – 2 – 12 – 3 turned the game in ARCB side. For ARCB Arjun V took 2 wickets and Surya Thuremella got 2 wickets. Aditya Banerji took 1 wicket and Surya/Prannav assisted one run out.
The game ended with another outstanding catch by Nayan E in Surya T over. Prannav C has shown exceptional wicket keeping skills in his agility throughout the game and his 2 quick stump outs were awesome.
Shashank G was awarded the Man-Of-the-Match by the opposite team coach and scorers for a match turning spell to help ARCB with their second straight game.
Scores: ARCB 170/8 in 30 overs. PSRT 131/10 in 25 overs.
